The precinct serves as a key link to major hospitality and retail destinations and is home to the Salamanca Market.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][vcex_heading text=”Project Design Brief” tag=”h2″ font_weight=”semibold” font_size=”1.154em” css=”.vc_custom_1534997838718{margin-bottom: 15px !important;}”][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1763685427809{padding-bottom: 15px !important;}”]As part of the pavement replacement works, new drainage infrastructure was required to manage surface water while accommodating both vehicular and pedestrian traffic. The system needed to meet pedestrian safety standards for slip resistance and stiletto heel penetration. The design also sought to complement the darker pavement tones with drainage components that integrated seamlessly into the upgraded streetscape.[/vc_column_text][vcex_heading text=”ACO’s Solution” tag=”h2″ font_weight=”semibold” font_size=”1.154em” css=”.vc_custom_1534997885619{margin-bottom: 15px !important;}”][vc_column_text]
The 0.5% built-in slope in the S300K channel allowed the pavement to be constructed as flat as possible and still provide efficient drainage.
The Iron Intercept Heelsafe®Anti-Slip grates grate provides slip resistance of P5 to AS 4586 and Load Class D to AS 3996, which met the designer’s requirements.
PowerLok barless locking system secures each grate at four locations for security
