At the time of construction, Brisbane Airport Link was Australia’s largest ever road infrastructure project. The project comprised 3 major components:
- a 6.7km tunnel;
- the Windsor to Kedron section of the Northern Busway; and
- a 750m flyover and fast diamond intersection.

Integrating the new infrastructure into existing road networks and carriageways was an important design objective.
